In light of the high number of COVID-19 cases in the area, the Pink Warrior Walk will not be a timed event. Rather than a designated start and finish line – with registrants congregating together – there will be a race route through downtown Jonesboro that participants can enter and end at any point.
No. We are offering a race route, which is approximately three miles, that will take participants from Main Street in downtown Jonesboro to St. Bernards Health and Wellness, located on Matthews Avenue. Participants may start and finish anywhere they like, visiting sponsor booths and enjoying great entertainment along the way. Individuals registered for the event may also choose to make their own route at a location of their choosing, or participate virtually and forego the race aspect altogether.
The course will feature various sponsor tents and booths, including water stops, entertainment, a photo booth, a survivor tent and others. The idea is to prevent too many individuals from gathering in one area, but still offering the race experience, all for a great cause.
All proceeds support breast health services in Northeast Arkansas. Sixty percent of the proceeds benefit the St. Bernards Mammography program, which provides mammograms to uninsured and underinsured individuals. The remaining 40 percent of the proceeds will be distributed as grants to partners and organizations in Northeast Arkansas that support breast health programs.
Registrants will receive a t-shirt and a goody bag (first 400 registrants). Survivors who register for the race will receive those items in addition to a hat and other goodies the day of the race. DEADLNE TO RECEIVE A SHIRT the day of the event is October 15, 2021. If we have additional shirts at the end of the event, we will notify those who registered after October 15th.
